Hi lovely!y story is very similar to yours! 
 

I got my letter scheduling me for a colposcopy next week as I've tested positive with the HPV virus/l and abnormal cells.

my doctor informed me there's a borderline change in cells hence the colposcopy.. my last smear was 3 years which came back normal, I also had a baby 4 months ago so I'm all over the place! 
 

I'm petrified of the colposcopy.. not because of the procedure but the results!

sorry to hear you're going through something similar. I am just feeling a little frustrated that I've been left in the dark with no indication of when I'll be contacted. Naturally that made me look online which freaked me out even more! But looks like it could be up to 8 weeks of worry before I hear anything. I'm tempted to go privately as I've already had the stress of waiting between appointments & results etc with my other recent health scare, it's never ending at this point! 
 

Also read that it's pretty common to have cell changes in your mid/late 20s so hoping they won't need to do anything too invasive & just 'keep an eye' on things but we will see.

The waiting is the worst thing isn't it! 
you get told something super worrying and nobody seems to be bothered to talk to you more in-depth about it. 
I had my letter though last week and the colposcopy is booked for the 7th but my smear was 7-8 weeks ago so all in all the whole process from smear to appointment was 10 weeks all in all! 
 

You must be going out of your mind waiting for the appointment  especially given your recent health scare! My heart goes out to you.  X

It really is - especially not knowing how long it'll take. I have a dr appt for something else on Tuesday so I will ask how long I can expect to wait then. I have been run down recently so maybe that's why it's suddenly appeared, hopefully by my appt it might be kept at bay! But as I said I must've already had it for at least 3 years. Trying to stay healthy & positive as stress doesn't help clear viruses!

So after my colposcopy I was in quite a lot of pain. I got my results today and it's cin3 pre cancerous changes. They've asked me to come back in 6 months but I'm not sure how I feel about walking around with pre cancerous cells. I am feeling pretty upset and hopeless as this is my second cancer scare in less than a year. My original smear said low grade cin1 changes, the doctor who did my colposcopy said she couldn't really see anything and it was nothing to worry about. Now all of a sudden it's come back as cin3. Really worried I have something wrong with me genetically and I'm just gonna continue having cancer scares until one finally gets me. Not sure what to do just going to take a couple of days to process things and I guess try to live as healthily as I can and hope it clears up on its own. Not sure how I'm going to continue to cope with the painful procedures and waiting games for results though, anxiety is fully through the roof.
