Multiple lumps in breast

Hi

A few months ago my right breast started feeling odd. Not painful or anything just a bit stingy/burning. I put it down to sore skin or something like that and left it. It carried on so about a month or so I did a self examination and discovered a lump deep inside of my breast. I went to the Dr a couple of weeks later who confirmed there's a lump and referred me to breast clinic. I'm still waiting to see them but since then I've noticed another lump towards my armpit on top quadrant (other lump is bottom and deep inside), I still have the burning feeling in there and it feels a bit heavy. My whole breast now feels lumpy (the left one is normal) and there's definitely 2-3 obvious lumps.
I am HPV positive and had a full hysterectomy 4 years ago so post menopause now. I'm also on immunosuppressive medication. Do I need to hit the panic button or is this just post menopausal cysts?

  • Hello Hollaka79

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some concerns about your breast health which has led to you being referred to the breast clinic.

As you've noticed some additional changes since you saw your GP, it would seem sensible to let them know. They can in turn update the breast clinic referral if necessary.

It may help you to know that the majority of people seen in breast clinic are not diagnosed with cancer so try to remember this and keep a positive mindset.

If you'd like to talk with one of our nurses for some advice and support you're most welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice and support they can ahead of your appointment.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
