I'm sorry to read that you have found a lump, and yes it is a worrying time,and the wait to get seen just adds to your stress. 

But there are a number of things that it could be  doesn't always have to be anything  sinister  ,the first thing that us  woman think of when finding a lump is ,have I got cancer.

Some of us go on to find it is,but not all of us woman do it could be a cyst.

I was diognosed with breast cancer in May 2020,had lumpectomy, spread to my lymph nodes so had them all removed from under my right arm. I recently found another lump in the same breast  I was so worried, I had to wait 4 weeks to see consultant, have ultrasound done,but thank goodness it was just a cyst this time. I was so relieved.

So just wanted to let you know,sometimes it is good news.

And to be honest yes the cancer diognosees was a shock, but in reality I'm glad I found it when I did, as if I hadn't of done  things could have been worse.  As finding it helped save my life,so I'm.glad I actually found it. If it your lump did  turn out to be cancer,  which im.hoping it wont be, but if it is  getting the treatments as soon as possible that you need could save you too. Cancer trestments are scary,but I got through 8 chemotherapy sessions 15 radiotherapy  treatments,yes you feel a bit,sore tired etc but i was never sick or felt sick and thought inwould be anti sicknesspills were smazing ,but I got through it, and I was so scared,but it realy was not as bad as I thought it would all be.  I hope this helps to ease your mind,as I said yours could be a cyst,like my second lump was. Thank you for your reply, I'm praying it's a cyst. I go from being convinced it's just hormonal to be being petrified it's cancer. I have 5 adult children and 4 year old twins and that's making me panic. I'm glad you're doing okay and I really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I've had rib, back, neck and leg pain on the same side and very low iron and I think thanks making me worry that something has been missed. I'm staying away from Dr Google so I don't worry myself more

Hi there.  Sorry to read that you've found a lump and are feeling anxious.  That is completely understandable.

As someone who has had multiple fluid filled cysts in my 40's and 50's, it's natural to have concerns, I can say that in all probability your lump will be a cyst, that can be drained very simply to make you more comfortable.  They do feel moveable and feel sore when you press them, (well mine did anyway).  It's great that you are getting it all checked out.

At 54 I'm actually grateful for my cysts as it made me very breast aware.  I went in to get another one checked and it turned out I'd actually got a low grade breast cancer on the other side.  Having cysts doesn't in any way increase your chance of breast cancer so don't worry, but it's always good to be vigilant.

In the clinic you will probably have an ultrasound which shows up cysts very well.  Even if they want to do a biopsy try not to panic as they are done as much to rule out cancer rather than confirm it.  Once you've been checked out you can put it all behind you and feel the relief!  Wishing you all the best for a good outcome.  Try not to worry too much and keep busy.

I have had lots of refferals to breast clinic over the years many cysts and breast ducts causing problems, they have removed various lumps and ducts , The clinic is happy to see you and scan if required  the reassurance is great . I'm fortunate that I have not had cancer but they say things can change and come back if worried.

Hi, just found your post and wondered if could share the outcome? I feel like I have very similar lump, I'm 41 and convinced I am peri menopausal. Have breast clinic app tomorrow to have it checked out x
