Tonsillectomy for excision biopsy

Hi I'm just after some advice or to see if anyone else has experienced the same,so end of December last year,I noticed what I can only describe as a skin tag on my tonsil,I had just recovered from covid that week and that day had done a covid test,so when I noticed it I presumed my tonsil was irritated from doing the swap,I kept an eye on it just incase, just before new year I saw a doctor who referred me to a fast track ent, then while waiting for the appointment another lession appeared on my otheside of my mouth on the tonsil pillar behind the tonsil,it's like a small bean shape and the colour of my mouth.

Saw the ent in January who didn't seem concerned at all, said she wanted to watch and wait for 3 months,my anxiety was so bad so I ended up seeing another ent at the beginning of March who has decided that I need a tonsillectomy for the one lession and then the othe lump an excision biopsy.

So that leads me to now as I'm absolutely terrified as I have a fear of being put to sleep, and I'm I've heard so many bad stories from people about tonsillectomy, that I've actually stalled the operation,as the last ent said he doesn't think it's cancer but wanted to just 100% rule it out,my head is all over the place with wondering what to do for the best, sorry for the long waffle but I'm just so anxious
