I am a 19 year old girl. I had EBV a few years ago, I have had all 3 HPV vaccines (so if I do have tonsil cancer the prognosis is likely to be very bad, being hpv negative). I was seen by ENT in August 2021 because I was worried my left tonsil was larger than the right, they sent me away with no explanation just saying it looked okay/normal. 1 month ago something came over me, like a wave of tiredness/fatigue and I felt off, and said out loud "I don't feel well". A week later I started to experience drenching night sweats, waking up 3 times a night, accompanied by the lymph node on the left side of my neck swelling up, it's been a month and these symptoms haven't gone away, the night sweats keep reoccurring. Every morning I spit out brown/red (blood) phlegm from my nose/tonsils and the left side of my tongue has swollen underneath as well. My tonsil has changed shape again and looks like it has a growth of some sort on top, is visibly bigger, has 2 holes and a red patch. I have ringing in both ears pain in left ear. I have 1st bite syndrome on in my left saliva gland all the time without eating. My doctors keep telling me to calm down and putting off actually referring me for relevant tests by waisting time testing me for things they know I don't have. I have high inflammation markers and a low white blood cell count. I had a throat infection at one point later during this month that came up as strep C (bacteria) on a throat swab and I was given antibiotics and it cleared. I have mental health issues, my GPs (I have seen 6 of them) keep refusing to refer me anywhere because they are blaming infections and my mental health, they have been gaslighting me for a whole month when I have perfectly rational fears based on all these persistent symptoms. They won't refer me back to ENT because of my infection and they are insistent that this is caused by a viral infection, I cannot understand why a viral infection would still be giving me intense persistent sweats like this, also lymphoma would make me vulnerable to infection, so having 2 infections (throat and viral) is also a symptom. I have gone private now and am seeing an ENT consultant in a few days. To summarise the letter my GPs wrote to refer me to the private place, it was 2 pages of insults calling me crazy, blaming anxiety and trivialising my symptoms. Has anyone else had anything like this at all? What was the outcomes? I hope they biopsy my tonsil at least but I want my lymph node biopsied too
