Hello Clarebear, 

It's normal to be feeling worried as you are waiting for your biopsy results and this polyp wasn't detected 4 years ago. I hope that you won't have to wait too long for your results. Try if you can not to anticipate the worst as chances are it will be something other than cancer. 

I am keeping everything crossed for you that it all turns out to be nothing of concern. Waiting for results can be a really stressful experience and one minute can feel like a lifetime so I thought I would share with you this information on how to cope with waiting for important news. 

Hopefully you will hear from others on the forum who have had a similar experience before with sessile polyps and they will be along shortly to share their story with you.
