Terrified I have oral/throat cancer and it’s being missed :(

I'm 25 and 2 years ago now I started having a feeling of something being stuck in the back of my throat, then I noticed a lump behind my ear along with ear pain, pressure on my right side of my head and another lump under my chin/jaw area. I have seen 3 ENT consultants who have all done the camera down my nose which they said looks fine, the last time I was seen was around 8 months ago. I had a scan on the lump under my chin which they said is a cyst. Fast forward to now I am still having the feeling in my throat and the area near the lump is sore sometimes, I have also noticed I keep getting a little skin tag type thing at the back of my mouth that comes and goes, most recently I have been having some pain when I swallow. Doctors have said ENT most likely won't see me again due to the amount of times they have checked me over and can't find anything so I'm at a loss of what to do. I have 3 children and I'm currently pregnant with my 4th, they are all I can think about :( I'm so scared by the time we find something it will be too late any advice or words would be lovely. Thankyou, from an absolutely terrified mum!

    Hey,

    I'm sorry your in this situation, i know what its like to feel like no one believes or listens to you..  Have you tried the dentist to check on the skintag in your mouth for reassurance from a different speciality. I know what its like I have 3 boys and just want to make sure I'm here and healthy for them and my husband too, maybe ask your GP for some diflam spray that helps with the pain this helps me when I have trouble swallowing.

    Hi, thankyou for replying. I went to the dentist twice when the feeling in my throat first started and they didn't mention anything looking out of the ordinary but I may book in again. It's so scary isn't it, I just want to feel okay and not spend everyday worrying :( x

    I know it's such a worrying and exhausting time. I too have inflamed lymph node at the back of my right ear since my 2ww referral last year I've got quite a few raised in multiple places now. At the time I was grateful I didn't have anything serious but since having covid in November losing my voice for 4 weeks and now got lesions and nodes inflamed inside on my hard palate and at the back of the throat I'm convinced it is something they've missed :cry: :cry: plus 1 week into no voice again :confused:

    Maybe ask to see head and neck Maxillofacial. Thats who ive been referred to this time and thankfully shes listening to me, shes obviously testing to rule out cancer but was interested in all my previous symptoms that maybe could be linked. Ive got well pneumotised sinuses (maxillary sephnoid and ethmoid) never had a full investigation to know whether they are the cause of all my symptoms which is nearly 3 years in now... migraines, dizziness unbalanced only sweat down left side of my face to name a few. 

    I would definitely speak to your GP again if your worried they do have a duty of care to you. Maybe a simple blood test or something like a watch and wait approach so they will keep an eye on your symptoms and see if anything changes to put your mind to rest as stressing about it won't help you and the baby. X
