Lump in right thigh

Hi

ive been very worried about a small lump in my right thigh the size of my little finger top it's hard but it's easier to feel at certain angles and can't be seen or felt by just sliding your hand on it which is why I can't feel it when washing h or creaming my legs .. I first noticed it in the summer but thought I had knocked myself on the corner of my work desk as I do that alot so thought nothing of it .. funnily enough I haven't felt it for a while and forgot about it .. fast forward to end of feb and I was at my desk had an itch and felt it again .. this time I was a bit more concerned and kept an eye on it .. it was still there 2 weeks later so I went to my GP who felt round and said she wasn't worried and was a fatty lump and sent me on my way although 2 hours later she sent me a messsge to say she had spoke with a colleague and was sending me for an ultrasound and I willl get a letter.

PANIC!! I called my GP and asked what was going on she said nothing to worry about she still thinks it's nothing but as it's been there a while her colleague said she could refer me on NHS for the scan so in her words ' so why not' I asked again if I should be worried she said no .. but I am

mum 41 with a little one of 3 .. I've googled and I'm petrified I have sarcoma.

anyone that can reassure me a bit would be a big help

  • Hello Mummy2girls183,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat! It does sound like your GP is not worried at all but they are just being thorough by referring you to this ultrasound scan. It's normal to be anxious as you are waiting to be seen but try and focus on the fact that your doctor mentioned to you that they were not concerned and that you shouldn't worry too much.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. Dr Google is famously unreliable and has a habit of showing you the worst possible - and least likely - scenario!

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello

ment to do this a while back as I always wanted to see outcomes when I was concerned

i went for a scan and was told it was just a fatty lump

the guy doing the scan said if the lumps under 10cm its
unlikely to be anything naughty - lump is still there no change
