Cancer scare

Hi guys, I'm Lucy, I'm 27 from Lincolnshire. For the past few months I've been suffering weight loss. At first I thought nothing of it until family members and friends commented on it. Then my work colleagues noticed (my overalls were falling down and a friend gave me a belt). I haven't been dieting or eating differently. I was urged to see my GP which I reluctantly did after noticing most of my clothes didn't fit anymore. I have been experiencing other symptoms such as extre tiredness, night sweats, rashes coming and going, joint pains, glands in neck hurting and not feeling myself. I have had chronic diahorrea for about a year (had a colonoscopy with biopsies and nothing shown). Saw the GP today and she was great. She did a full examination of my glands and stomach etc. I've got my bloods booked in for Wednesday and I've had to take two stool samples - one for cancer markers and one for any bowel inflammation. Im so worried at the moment as I know my body and don't feel right. Is there any advice that you can give if you w experienced anything similar? I only had a colonoscopy with biopsies just over a year ago so surely that can't be an issue again? It's more the weight loss, fatigue and pains in glands and joints I'm worried about... any experiences etc would be much appreciated x

  • I'm sorry about the symptoms you've been contending with lately Lucy. I know this must be scary but I'm glad you saw your GP and that they're doing all they can to get to the bottom of this for you.

Hopefully some of our members will get back to you soon but whilst you wait I just wanted to let you know your post has been seen and that we're here for you. I also hope this article on how to cope with waiting for news will help keep your nerves and worry at bay until you know more.

I hope your test results bring good news when they come through Lucy and that everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,
