Cervical biopsy

Hi

I've recently had a biopsy done at my coloscopy, I'm still awaiting results but something keep saying playing on my mind. Whilst I was having the coloscopy the nurse said she wanted to do the biopsy but didn't suggest what she thought it was or anything. Yet she sat me up and asked me if I planned on having anymore children, I said I was unsure and she nodded. I'm just worrying now why she asked me.

has anyone else been asked this before?

thanks

  • Hi.

I'm new here and worried too , had Biopsy and awaiting results. I dont have children but I spoke to a couple of nice ladies here and they keep me down and help me to relax a slight bit. So I just want to say , there is so many of us worrying. I am here to worries for already a month.

Did you have a letter from smear, it should say more information.?

    Xx

  • Hi,

it is very worrying isn't it, I think it's the waiting that makes it all so much worse. It's the anxiety of not knowing. My smear letter said hpv positive (which I already had the year before) and low grade dyskarosis, when they did the biopsy I think she saw something different to that otherwise why would they want a biopsy? And then asking me if I wanted more children makes me think she thinks I've got something that's going to make it more difficult or stop me having more, or that the treatment I might have might do that.
I just didn't know if it was a routine question to ask because it's worrying me so much!

so you haven't received results for your biopsy yet? A month is a long time isn't it to be waiting bless you :(

    Xxx

  • I am having HPV positive and high grade moderate. But was reassured by the doctor that nothing to be concerned about. But I'm always reading about it and think bad . But there are ladies who help me out and I had a proper food today.

I'm stressing one month since smear letter came. Got it mid Feb. Had Biopsy on 2nd March so another two weeks wait. Basically I'm stressing since the smear, than had Colposcopy and still thinking bad , probably normal for us.

Low grade is normally watch and wait. I did ask my doctor if I will be Able to have children as I don't have any. She told me that it has no impact on pregnancy.

It's difficult to say because they say it's depending on age and grade . Xx

I'm worried alot but I think we should calm little bit down. I was told by two very nice ladies. If you want join in the chat in my profile and there are very good ladies there and theyve been through this and have some good stories. It helps me xxx I will also be there for you.. xxxx

  • Biopsy is normal I believe. Especially if you are below 30.

I was told I need biopsy because I'm 28 and in this age it's normal to have abnormal cells and they might get back to normal itself  . Other ladies shared the same.xx
