Bleeding for 2 weeks after smear

Hi everyone,

Making this post to check if anyone has had similar symptoms, plus to provide updates for anyone who may be going through the same.

I'm 28. My last smear was at 25 and came back normal. (My first smear was actually done because I went to the doctors after bleeding during sex. It turned out to be a bruised cervix.)

Fast forward to 2021 and I begin to have a lot of watery discharge with a strange smell. There was so much thay I changed my underwear and showered several times a day. After a few weeks, it stopped and I began spotting. This was unusual as I'd had a contraceptive implant (Nexplanon) renewed 6 months earlier, which got rid of my periods.

3 weeks later I had another period, much heavier this time. This lasted just over a week and had a much stronger smell (fishy/acidic) than what I remember when I had periods. Then, the discharged returned.

Another 3 weeks later I began bleeding again, alternating between medium flow and spotting, for nearly a month. I had a urine and swab test, which revealed a UTI and BV. I took antibiotics for 2 weeks which stopped the bleeding almost immediately.

After this, things seemed relatively normal. I spotted lightly in January and February, around the same time, so I assumed this was like a period.

At the end of February, the discharge began to return and I finally managed to book a smear test (10 months later than I should have done, due to moving a lot).

When the doctor inserted the speculum, she remarked that there was a lot of discharge. She took a swab to check for infection alongside the smear. When she took out the speculum, there was quite a lot of red blood, which continued for a week (intensifying on day 6), so I was prescribed coagulants to stop the bleeding.

A week later, I now have watery discharge with blood in it. My swab results showed no sign of infection. I'm still waiting on the smear.

I'm getting spooked, as I lost my grandmother to cervical cancer last year, though I'm trying not to jump to the worst. Google searches for these symptoms don't yield much so I'm just looking for some possible reassurance or advice

Thank you!
