Can someone offer advice? CT results inconclusive. Worried

I have endometriosis that's gluing my bowel:bladder/kidneys/womb/vaginal wall together.

I had a MRI and they found a mass that they have identified as a suspicious mass. They suspected cancer.

I was sent for a CT and bloods. Bloods came back clear but the CT came back as inconclusive, my consultant has said they couldn't read the scan as it wasn't behaving in a neither benign or malignant fashion, so they can't tell, and they then send the results to another specialist to look at.

i was meant to hear today but no one has called me. In short I'm really worried what's happening and if it's cancer, it's getting left longer and longer.

Has anyone been in this situation??

thank you.

  • Hi EllieG78 and welcome to the community.

I'm sorry about the mass that's been found and that the results came back inconclusive. I think it's only natural to be feeling worried in this situation but hopefully the specialist will be able to decipher them and give you good news.

I hope that someone has been in touch with you since you made this post but if not it may be worth chasing it up, if only for peace of mind.

I'm sure some of our members will offer their support and advice to you soon but if you'd like to discuss any of this with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

  • Hi EllieG78,

I am in  a similar situation to yours.

I started having pain, lower left side of abdomen last May and at the time had a internal pelvic scan, all clear. GP then suspected IBS and after being treated for if I felt better for a few months.

This Feb the pain returned stronger and when the GP performed a rectal exam a mass behind the rectum wall was found. I since had a colonoscopy and the colon is clear. I am now waiting for an MRI.

My symptoms are pain in abdomen and lower back pain, all on my left side. I also have now missed my period and am very worried that something was missed on my ultrasound last year.

    All the best, xx
