Possible pancreatic cancer

Hi everyone, I hope you are all doing well, it's very scary for me right now because I received a letter from my consultant who said that I have a possible mass in my pancreas following ct scan and I have gallstones also, urgent MRI on Saturday this week and been referred to mdt for discussion, does this mean I have cancer? I'm so scared for me but also because I am my husbands carer who is disabled due to recurring brain tumour, does anyone know how long it will be for my MRI results. I really wish the best for everyone on here I truly do.

Thank you for listening ️

  • Hello Rachyb123 and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,

This must be a rather worrying time for you and I am thinking of you today as you are having your MRI scan. I can imagine with having to look after your husband and being his main carer you are feeling really worried at the moment about what it might be. Try not to draw any conclusions though until you have your results as there are so many other conditions it might be and it's easy to anticipate the worst.

Normally according to our page on the MRI, it takes 1-2 weeks to get your results so hopefully it won't be too long now until you get some clarity on all this. It's best to try and keep busy and distracted if you can while you are waiting for your results and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
