A few months ago, I started feeling a very strange sensation in my neck when I would have my neck in certain positions such as sitting up, however I couldn't physically feel anything, I made an appointment with my GP and they said my neck appeared inflamed and she would put me a referral through as 'URGENT' for an ultrasound scan. A couple of months passed and I noticed one evening whilst in the bath, I could feel a small pea size lump in my neck, that would move, I decided to see the Doctor again to try and put my mind at rest, she told me the lump I could feel, she couldn't feel(I had to move my neck in order to find it and point her in the right direction) she said she could feel another small pea sized lump a little further up my neck, which she thought could be down to a Thyroid issue, and that the lump I could feel was 'just muscle' But to continue waiting for my ultrasound appointment to rule anything out to be sure. Fast forward a few weeks, and I go for my ultrasound on my neck. The lady who performed my scan wouldn't say much, other than she would assess it as soon as I have left, and send it on to my GP. Later this evening I receive a phone call from my GP advising that the scan has come back showing something isn't right and I have abnormal Lymph Glands, and I need an emergency blood test and would refer me to 'Haematology'. The next morning I go for my emergency bloods test, and have an appointment come through from the hospital with a date of in ten days time, to go up to Haematology, as it's been referred through as 'URGENT' so no long waits. Today, I have spoken on the phone again to my GP, who said she is unable to advise me any further as I need to see someone who specialises in bloods etc and she can only refer me, and she is not able to tell me anymore in fear of telling me wrong. Which may I add, I do completely understand, but for someone like me with severe anxiety, ten days is a long time. She told me not to postpone as this is serious and need attention asap. Which, of course, put the scares up me again!
Along with this small lump(the lump doesn't hurt but does move around a lot), I have felt increasingly tired(which I have put down to working a lot), intense itchy skin(no wash powder or any cleaning products have been altered at all), feeling restless, a lot of headaches, severe abdominal pains and having 2 periods a month(being tested for PCOS at the same time as all of this) and feeling quite out of breath(which I put down to not being particularly active other than working).
I'm so glad the doctors are on it and hopefully get some answers soon!
Has anyone been down a similar route?
If so, what came from your appointment at Haematology?
Thankyou for reading and hopefully being able to share your story!
