Still having side effects 5 weeks after Cervical biopsy

Hi I had a cervical biopsy almost 5 weeks ago now due to possible invasive cell changes, and I am still experiencing a spotting type loss a mixture of yellow/pink (sorry tmi) and also constant feel of lower back pain, pelvic pain, leg ache and an achy pain inside down below on and off, has anyone experienced this? Doc said it can be normal as I've had 3 Loops done in the past so could be taking longer to heal after the biopsy

thanks

  • I'm sorry you're still contending with quite a few issues from your cervical biopsy Mumof686 although I'm glad you've seen your doctor about this.

It's reassuring to hear that this can be normal, especially if you've had 3 loops before, but do keep an eye on it and if problems persist do be sure to let them know.

Hopefully some of our members who have had similar experiences will be along soon to share their stories and advice but if you'd like to have a quick chat with one of our cancer nurses whilst you wait, you can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I hope this helps and things start to get back to normal for you soon.

    Kind regards,

  • Hey I'm in same boat. Had a cervical biopsy 3 weeks ago. Still bleeding but more dark red/brown than anything. Very foul smelling too. Pelvic pain, stomach pain, lower and middle back pain and also sharp pains in chest. I have decided to ring GP as I thought this had gone on long enough. They are due to ring me back in the hour. Hope your OK x

  • Oh I'm sorry to hear youre having trouble too, I hope nothing too worrying when you have spoken you your gp, I'm almost 5 weeks now and started with more brown looking now and back ache and pelvic pain, I am going to contact either my gp or colposcopy u it to ask about it as it's horrible it feeling like it going so long, hope you get sorted and feel better soon xx

  • Please ring either gp or the people who done your colposcopy. My GP rang me back and wants me in on Thursday for a check up, and she wants to do it herself. She said if it gets worse before then, to ring the GP surgery straight away. I think you should ring them for peace of mind. I feel better that they have taken my side effects seriously and would like to check me out. Fingers crossed all normal x
