Lump on chest wall

Hi,

I was diagnosed with a fibroadenoma 2 years ago through ultrasound. I had another check a week ago and was advised it's the same fibroadenoma and it hasn't changed much from my last appointment 2 years ago.
Today I was running my fingers on my chest and felt a bit of a bump on my right side near my sternum just below my collarbone. So, I'm freaking out again as she didn't check that area  I don't know if it's just prominent rib on that side or something more?
I'm 27 and even to get seen for the second time for the fibroadenoma was a battle with doctors so doubt I'll be able to get an appointment to get this checked out. So I was wondering if this is something to worry about?
I tried moving my arm up and down whilst using my other figures to press on it and it moves along with my ribs if that makes sense?

thanks!

  • Hello Sophian95,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. As it is a new lump in an area that wasn't checked before, I am sure that they will be happy to see you again and have a look at it. So do give your doctor a call and mention that this is unrelated to the fibroadenoma and that it would reassure you to have someone have a look at it. Your doctor will have the expertise to tell you more about this and to assess whether it requires further investigations or it's nothing to worry about. Give your surgery a call tomorrow and I am keeping everything crossed for you that it turns out to be nothing of concern!

I hope that you will hear from other forum members who have had something similar and that they will be along soon to share their experience with you.

    Best wishes,
