Recent breast biopsy

Hello this is my first post. I'm 43 with 2 very small kids and recently found a lump which I assumed would be nothing but after my hospital visit for mammogram, ultrasound and then biopsy I now fear the worst :-( after the biopsy the dr said words like 'extremely concerned' something about me being a 4 on a scale of 1-5 so I have been in a state of panic ever since! Yest I heard I have another appt with the consultant next week which will be exactly 2 weeks after my biopsy. The wait is unbearable and I feel stressed out, can't work, sleep, eat - how on earth do you get through this bit?

  • Hi,

I have been through it and I am sure others will comment. I'm 38 with twi sons. That two weeks was the absolute worst, I actually gave up on sleep and would sit up with the TV on in the lounge with my Dogs.
I'm not familiar with the 1-5 so can't give advice on this.

This is the worst you will feel I promise you that. When you go to your appointment they will have all your results on the table and you will be able to process it, the unknown is worse because with think they worst.

My advice is to stay away from Google, stay positive it could be something else. You will be okay, you can get through this.

Have you got a good support network family and friends, talking helps. Xxx

  • Thank you for your message. It really is awful isn't it, I have never felt fear like it and have to hold it all in as I don't want to worry the kids :-( I think you are right and I will feel better aft the appointment no matter what because at least then you know what your dealing with but the wait seems sooo long and cruel. Nice to know I'm not the only one who has been through it though so thanks
