I was given a mammogram first, then seen by consultant and sent for ultrasound. I was told that I was fine to leave afterwards.

I was examined by a nurse then given a mammogram and then an ultrasound. I had to get biopsies done which they will usually do on the day but I had to go back 2 days later due to needing a different type of biopsy.

So you will firstly be seen by a consultant they will examine you and mark the area with a pen, if the feel they need too investigate more you will have either a mammogram or ultrasound first I am 38 I had a ultrasound first, then Mammagram ,, I believe under a certain age it's ultrasound first. If they think it's suspicious or something that needs removing they will put a marker in and may give you a biopsy on the day, I had mine on the day but have read people go back for this sometimes, it doesn't hurt and is very quick. 
 

If your clinic allows take someone with you even if they wait in the car, nice too have someone around. I would allow two hours. They may give you an idea on the day as to what they think it is. It could be lots of things try not too worry. They were straight to the point with me and I had no one there too support me. I waited a week from my biopsy too results,
