postmenapausal bleeding

hi

i am going to see oncology consultant tomorrow with a scan appointment first.

i went through the menapause just over 2 years ago but had a period a couple of weeks ago and GP said it needs checking out. im worried sick, hoping it is nothing but cant take my mind off it all.

anyone had scan then seen consultant, do they tell you straight away what they think? the waiting is horrible

  • Hey Debz,

How did you get on yesterday? I hope your scan went well and the consultant was able to tell you more about your situation but if you have anything playing on your mind or you've thought of some questions you forgot to ask at the time then do feel free to talk things through with our cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to put your mind at ease.

Hopefully some of our members will get back to you soon as well but in the meantime, we're thinking of you and will have our fingers crossed this will turn out to be no cause for concern.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • thank you, i was told the lining of my womb should be 4mm but mine is 9mm

they tried to take a biopsy yesterday but it was too painful

i am now going to go to theatre for biopsy and hysteroscopy

i am really worried now as i expected everything to be ok yesterday but now have to wait again and its the waiting that is worse
