Lymph node swollen in neck

Hi people,

I'm really worried about my lymph node on the right hand side of my neck, underneath. It's been swollen for what Ive known as 2/3 years, 2 GPS have said to me its swollen and that's it. Its about 2.5cms and I can move it around slightly left and right, it seems to be pulsing but I don't know if that's just my neck veins.

Recently because I've had other symptoms such as high d dimer levels from blood tests even though I have had blood tests came back 0.9 normal is 0.5 I've lost weight and may armpits have been itchy I'm really worried, I have family history of thyroid problems and I'm semi hoping it just this, please can someone reassure me I'm panicking, AnE told me to stop worrying and gave me diazepam. Is there any other normal reasonable explanation for what I'm going through? Please some one help.

  • Hello Daniel

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some ongoing health worries despite having seen multiple Dr's.

Health anxiety can be a serious problem and I'd really encourage you to speak to your GP about the concerns that you have about this swollen node but also about your anxiety. You can find some information on the NHS website that will give you some tips that may help you better manage things.

I do hope that you find some support from your GP and that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
