Fibroadenoma - now lumpy towards armpit

Hello, I had a fine needle aspiration on the 10th feb, the whole experience was horrific, the consultant was rude, didn't ask me any questions on my situation or family history etc. A scan showed a mass but he believed it to be a fibroadenoma. By the time I could get my bra back on after my biopsy he was talking into his dictator and told me To go. No follow up appointment or even information on how I get my results. Fast forward today I rang his secretary who informed me the findings indicate fibroadenoma, I responded with asking for a face to face appointment for results and to discuss the changes that appear to have happened since my biopsy, such as lumps from my lump up into my arm pit, an a shooting pain periodically.  I can't help but shake the feeling something is more wrong that a fibroadenoma but I don't know what to do.

  • Hi Lloydy and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear about your fine needle aspiration experience but I'm glad you've managed to get a face to face appointment with the consultant to discuss your results in more detail.

I hope they're able to answer your questions and put your mind at ease about the changes you have experienced since you had the biopsy but if you're still feeling worried after you've spoken with them then you could try getting a second opinion.

You're also welcome to talk things through with our team of cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

I really hope you're able to get some peace of mind over this soon Lloydy.

    Kind regards,
