What happens at an eye biopsy? Very scared

Hi all

I'm new!   I wonder if any of you could share your experience of an eye biopsy.     I'm having one on Monday for investigation of conjunctival  lymphoma.     I don't know what I'm more terrified about: the biopsy or the diagnosis.    I'm trying to rationalise it all but am terrified of both.      Anything that can allay my fears for the biopsy would be really helpful.

  • Hi Sooze and welcome to the community.

Hopefully some of our members who have had an eye biopsy will tell you about their experiences soon but I hope this information we have about the procedure will help as well.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss this in more detail with one of our nurses, then do give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very friendly and knowledgeable and they will do all that they can to answer your questions and put your mind at ease about this procedure.

I hope all goes well on Monday Sooze. We'll be thinking of you and hoping for a good outcome.

    All the best,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Thanks so much for your reply.   Yes I had seen that.   I'm having an incisional biopsy so if anyone does have experience I'd be really appreciative.     I'm having a little more optimistic day today.   Keeping busy but those thoughts aren't far away!

  • Have you had your biopsy yet? I've been told I have to have one terrified also?
