Worried about some of the report for my colonoscopy results

i have  come   across  some   reports  of  my   colon oscopy results.  and  it  appears   that  have  foud  a  lump of  around 12mm  in  my sigmoid colon .   i   have  asked  my  doctor, what does  it mean.  but      , just  says  its  nothing  and  fobs  me off..   who can i go to  to  get an answer  from.   as this   is     tearing me and  my   family   apart.   please   can you advise me.   many  thanks           the  results   from the doctor ,  shows    a  large  circle   with a capital   ;N; inside the  circle.    then an arrow  pointing  to my     upper descending   colon area.  does  anybody know  what this means

does the  capital = N............    mean= NORMAL     or  NEOPLASIA or  NODES  [lynph nodes}

  • Hello Billythekid.. I was shocked when I read you post, when I seen that you felt you were ‘fobbed off’ when you asked.. to YOU..a very important question.. I really do feel you should go back to your doctor and explain how you were made to feel.. especially considering this is now worrying not just you but also your family.. make sure the doctor is aware of that.. if you still feel that your being ‘fobbed off’ then make a complaint. You are entitled to know what’s going on and an explanation is needed if only to put your mind at ease and that of your family.. please don’t ever be ‘fobbed off ‘again.. tell them straight that you want things explained in simple English as you have every right to know what’s going on in your body. I know and have read many times how doctors have made mistakes because they are either rushing or feel that little things ( in their eyes) are not worth the time to explain.. don’t put up with that!! Be brave and tell the doctor just how he/she is making you feel and that it’s now effecting your family as well.. it’s not good enough, you deserve to know what’s going on and your doctor is aware of that. Wishing you good health.

  • thank you.    hchand...........i,v  read   your  reply   and  i have  tears  in my  eyes.....i have  asked  mr   doctor  on  numours  occcastions,        but to no  avail.  they     have  warned   me    ....if  i  raise  my  voice , i will be  extracted......     from  his surgery.   THey  did   not wont  me  there   when   i first  enlisted there..     whenever  i ask THE   CORRECT  QUESTIONS,  he  blanks  me   and    keeps  quiet .    because  i speck my mind it appears  they   dont  like  .  as  i am  very  knowledgable  on my  illness    .  .  i have   a   fax    that   my   doctor wrote.   to my    bowel  consultant.  asking   him   , to   rewrite   the  enitial colon   oscopy  report.............in  other words.   to  falsify  the  paperwork...................                                                                                         .i do not trust  any   doctors.as i feel that   they all lie........   they  hide   paperwork, and  also    destroy some .                                            I    know  these are   harsh words, but  they   give me no  option..  this   forum  does  not allow me  to  show  the  hospital   reports.  I thought  this  forum  was to  help.  joe  public.  but yet again , ANOTHER BRICK WALL

  • I. Suggest contacting the bowel consultants secretary asking for an explanation as you are being confused by the report and your dr, l have found the secretary in gynaecology to be really helpful when I rang she contacted the consultant for me then rang me with the answer. When I didn't know wether or not to use some medicine as l was due surgery she contacted the nurse specialist who answered my questions they are another resource for you as they are up to date with the current treatment ect. Hope that helps as it's something you can try

    Take care

  • when i  was  21  years  old.   a  endocrinolgist  told me    that  all   my   test  were  , NEGATIVE..     then  the  doctor  told   me,  that they  were  all   false  NEGATIVES........this  means  that  the patient  has  cancer........   A  false  negative test      and     a  true  positive test  both  mean   , cancer present
