Raised CA-125 and ovarian cyst found

Hello all

my head is all over the place and would like to know what other peoples experience's or outcomes were?

I had my youngest baby by emergency c section in September 2021. Since I had her I have been getting pains on my lower left side from front to back they feel like constant early labour / bad period pains. I thought it was just because I had a C-section at first . As months rolls on and my monthly cycles made an appearance I noticed my bleeding was erratic and had hardly any breaks and it was really heavy even at night whereas even after my other 5 babies and regular periods I never had to wear pads at night. I was now leaking through super pads after an hour.

eventually the  doctor examined me and noticed my left side was tense and gaurded. She ordered bloods which came back with high CA-125 level and high lliver level. Sent me for a U/S where they have seen a cyst and are referring me urgently to oncology.

worried sick as have 6 children. Has anyone else experienced this? What were your outcomes or stories.

thank you for reading and wishing everyone positive thoughts and love.

  • My ovarian cysts were found during a colonoscopy for left sided pain and frequent bowel movements. I had ct and mri and ultrasounds showing that they were not getting smaller so surgery in October they couldn't feel the left overy so opened my abdomen and spent 4 1/2 hours removing extensive adhesions l think they may have caused some of the pain, lm really glad l had the oncology surgeon as she stuck with my adhesions and said that most surgeons would have bailed out and left them. Fortunately the biopsies were benign. I hope you have a good outcome with your scans. I am post menopausal so probably another they got on with my operation

take care l hope you have your answers soon
