Hello Andy91.. if it was me.. Ask questions.. and keep asking until you have a satisfactory answer.. you are entitled to know what’s going on and an explanation. As for the Hernia.. I had a life saving operation last April and woke to find all my lower bowel removed and now have a stoma.. shock wasn’t the word for it but I asked questions as I was so upset as to what they had done to me, asking questions I found that this operation saved my life.. and I’m now grateful although I hate having a stoma, all part of life!! I noticed a large swelling on the left of my tummy and when I asked about it I was informed it is a hernia, not at all painful but to me.. ugly!! I want it fixed but these operations are no longer done ( in my area of the country anyway) ask why you have been discharged back to your doctor, write down all you want and obviously need to know and insist on answers in a way you will understand ( I know sometimes doctors forget we are not trained in the use of all the words used by them and need it in simple English) I hope this will help you.. wishing you good luck and good health.
