Swollen lymph glands and pain in legs

I've had swollen lymph nodes in neck, under arm and groin since November.  Saw a GP just before Xmas who examined me but found nothing that concerned her.  I had blood tests done on 4th January and they came back normal.  I was still concerned but GP was more worried about my anxiety and referred me to a Mental Health Nurse.  At end of January I had a telephone consultation with a different GP as I felt the glands had got bigger.  She also wasn't concerned but referred me for an ultrasound scan "just to put my mind at rest".  The scan is due next week and my anxiety is running wild.  I now have pains in the back of my legs and inner arms.  Has anyone else had anything like this?  Do I wait until my scan next week?  I feel like the doctors are concentrating too much on my anxiety and not the symptoms.  I'm so worried and cannot eat or sleep.

  • Hello Villageidiot57,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for your scan.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be but if you are concerned about these symptoms, make sure you mention them to your doctor especially if they are a new thing and you haven't flagged these issues before. It won't be long now until your scan next week.  The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
