Mucinous borderline ovarian tumour removed and I'm pregnant

I had a Mucinous borderline ovarian tumour removed. I got called into the dr s office three months after the surgery to say my dermoid cyst was Mucinous borderline ovarian tumour.

The dr suggested that I get my right ovary/tube and appendix removed. However, when they scanned me I found that I was six weeks pregnant. I suffer from pcos so getting pregnant is pretty hard.  Now I'm not sure what to do I'm terrified of losing the baby and also I'm terrified of waiting for 9 months just incase some thing serious happens due to me delaying removing my ovary tube and appendix.

Anyone who has experienced a similar situation your advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

  • A very warm welcome to the forum Celine although I'm very sorry to read about the tricky situation you find yourself in.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be but I hope you're able to talk things through with your doctor again so you can discuss all your options and come to a decision you're comfortable with.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in a similar situation will offer their support and advice to you soon but if you feel it may help to have a chat with one of our cancer nurses, then do give them a call next week. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. I hope this information we have about borderline ovarian tumours will prove useful as well.

    Kind regards,
