  • Hi Psha,

Just thought I'd reply as I am going through something similar at the moment and I know how stressful it can be. Like you, the doctors thought my right-sided lower pain was IBS at first but I had some blood tests and an ultrasound. My CA125 also came back elevated at 60, however, the doctor said this can be because of a number of other conditions, such as being on your period, a cyst, endometriosis, etc. It turns out from ultrasound I have a 7cm cyst on my right ovary, which they think is an endometrioma. I've had more bloods taken and I'm due for an MRI but hopefully this is all it is (even though it's fairly painful!) I wanted to share this as for a couple of weeks between my raised CA125 and ultrasound, to then being referred on a 2 week referral to Urgent Gynaecology, I was absolutely terrified. It was all I could think about. The one thing I kept having to think is that all of these things are part of a step-by-step process to help the doctor to get a better idea of what's going on to be able to treat you the best way they can. I know the waiting can be so stressful and consuming - don't do what I did and Google constantly though. It really IS so bad for you. Once I stopped Googling every single thing I did start to feel a bit better. I hope your scan goes OK and you get some answers soon. My MRI is a week on Sat so hopefully I'll know a bit better what my treatment is then. Best of luck x
