not looking for sympathy

hi all 

 im still counting down the days till 8th march for my first appointment , as its getting closer im thinking what ifs etc 

then 12am 14th march my parter gets a call his father got rushed to hospital swollen legs , swollen man hood , fast heart rate , fast breathing blood sugers 32.4 , poor man is 82 with dementure 

later on in day dr phoned he has 2 organ failures he has kidney diease and artifibulation next 48 hrs critical he is slowing showing signs but still very poorly 

our hospital are not allowing visitors sadly 

my parter been snappy and wants to cry but wount , he has said about stress that worried about his father and me and general life things 

think i will phone breast nurse today , as im worried as if i need biopsey im on warfarin , would i need to miss a dose , or get blood test to see where inr is ( thiness / thickness of blood )

    Hello lady_penelope, 

    It won't be long now until your first appointment on the 8th of March. I am so sorry though to hear that your partner's father was rushed to hospital. It must be such a stressful time for all of you and it's a shame that you are not able to visit him in hospital. 

    Have you managed to speak to the breast nurse? It's good to mention to them that you are on Warfarin and they will be able to tell you what you need to do. If necessary they will check with a GP what the recommendations are in your situation.

    thanks for reply 

    i phoned the breast clinic and asked if they needed up to date inr , she said yes , she also said not many people would if that question , but would be needed if biopsey was required , and would have to stop warfarin 5 days prior to any surgery , and stay in hospital longer until my inr was in range 

     

    i have only looked at dr google with warfain and biopsy ... with risks etc 

    with events of my father in law being so poorly its replacped my thoughts of the first appoitment and what consultant may or may not say
