‘Mass’ found near right ovary

Hi everyone I hope this is ok for me to post on here. I went for an internal ultrasound on Monday and was told there is a mass near my right ovary. I have been told to go back in 6 weeks for another scan to check for any change. The report said this -

inferior and medial to the right ovary there is a well defined thick walled part fluid part mixed echo lesion measuring 24 x 22 x m24mm, this demonstrates increased vascularity and within the fluid component there is a 6mm echogenic nodule. Nature of this is indeterminent.

does any one know if this sounds like something to be concerned about? Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

I don't have any advice but just to say I hope you're ok. The fact you aren't going back for 6 weeks is positive. If it was something sinister I don't think they'd leave it that long. Although it's hard waiting on results

I had abdominal ultrasound & travsvaginal u/s yesterday. Sonographer said she wasn't allowed tell me anything when I asked if it looked ok so I'm worried waiting by the phone. Have had bad ovarian pain & lower back pain gor 2 months now. Really hope you get all clear x

  • Thank you for replying. I hope you get the all clear also.
i hope that is the case about having to wait the 6 weeks. I too have had abdominal pain and lower back pain, have also had an elevated hcg level for the last 2 months which is odd because I'm not pregnant x

  • Hi hope you're well. I went for an internal pelvic u/s, I asked the sonographer if she had found anything, she stated the same that she wasn't allowed to say and I would need to wait for the dr. I'm a bit worried as I have been having irregular periods since I miscarried in April 2020. I've also been having sharp pains on the left side of my lower stomach. My scan was on Sunday and I haven't heard anything yet. So I'm hoping it's not anything sinister. Hope you get the all clear x
