Male 26 white 6ft 350 pounds down from 380 in 2 months.

History of acid reflux been on lansoprazole for 5 years had endoscopy done in past few years but no sign of if, but when I stop medication I get symptoms of tasting acid in my throat.

8 years on ramipril for high blood pressure.

Asthma when I was a child.

Started fluoxetine on 6th January

6th January 1st time had these what I think are Eptobic beats, my heart would pause for a second or so and I would have this strange feeling in my chest, I have had them every day since.

13th Jan Shortness of breath started when sitting or lying feels like my breathing is being blocked or restricted at the same time I started getting trapped gas and burping after every thing I eat or drink " I do not eat anything that can cause this to happen" and this is still on going.

Feb 8th Shortness of breath has gotten worse and now affects me when walking at times I feel like ive done a work-out when im hardly moved, but then there are times I can walk and be okay. I started to awake up at night, feeling very restricted with my breathing.

Feb 10th and 24 hours of pains all over my belly and around 20 episodes pure water dirahear,

Feb 11th and on going, I feel nausea all the time with no appetite and when ever I do eat a meal hours later it tends to come back up my food pipe and I feel tightness in the chest.

Feb 13th stools seem orange and lighter in colour than normal and been getting stabbing pains in stomach area and to the right.

Ive been A and E number of times, they have done ECG Bloods and chest x-ray all normal.

Had Ultra sound done a month ago due to other reasons on my liver pancreas and gallbladder which was normal other than a fatty liver which I've had for a long time.

I just do not know what going on or what else to do to try and make them listen and do something.

Has anyone got any ideas at all what could be happening, Anything would be appreciated thank you !

  • Hey!

I'm sorry to hear you've experienced so many different symptoms over the last few months. Due to my history of stomach pains and quite similar symptoms, it could be that there is a undiagnosed hernia poking around, obviously I am not a doctor but that could be something.

I'm 26 and have been living with a hiatus hernia for the past 7 years. It can sometimes affect my GI tract all over causing a boat load of symptoms. I was diagnosed with an Endoscopy; I know you said you had one years ago but a hernia has a habit of moving around so it could potentially have been missed. I’m certain if it was something serious, they would have caught it by now. Hernia’s can also cause a vast weight loss as well when you stress and forget to eat, I know I do. I often get chronic pain that can last for hours, nausea and dizziness when I have an empty stomach. Acid is another main symptom.

I hope this helps put your mind at ease, trust the process and maybe ask for another endoscopy?

  • Hello!

It doesn't sound like you're having much fun with everything happening all around the same period, a tiny bit of good news to take away from this however is that you said there are times where it's okay! If this was caused by something quite seriois, or detrimental to your health, I don't think it would come and go. I am definitely no doctor, but I have heard doctors say that!

Another thing it could all be is stress induced anxiety, I know recently I've been having a lot of symptoms similar to yours, and I believe mine is ultimately due to stress. I can tell you're quite stressed over your whole situation! It might be worth looking into what anxiety can do to your physical health, it can bring on a whole array of symptoms, different for everyone. I would still absolutely follow Chris' advice though, I'd ask for another endoscopy, just to rule anything bad out, although I'm hoping you'll be absolutely fine, and who knows, many people report a lot of their symptoms going away after they're reassured that it's nothing sinister, best of luck man, keep us updated!
