Hello
tl;dr: After a severe swelling in my left, tests found two lumps on my left testicle and was suspected to be malignant, Testicular Biopsy ruled this out. I then found another lump on my right testicle, and even though I have done 6 Ultrasounds before finding it, and did 2 after, and a CT Scan, it was not detected. Doctors ignored it, and a year later, I am rethinking If I should drill more about it.
Brief History about my case (most of it is on the left testical)
In August 2020, I had a very severe epididymo-orchitis on my left side, that responded to antibiotics.
After it settled down, I still had some pain after 4 weeks. Ultrasound found two masses on my left testicle that initially was thought to be a testicular abscess.
After 1 week, the two masses' size shrunk a bit in the second ultrasound, and doctors suspected them to be cancerous tumors. Although I was pretty sure I didn't have them before August.
In October 2020, I had a testicular biopsy, and in the operation, the doctors said it was highly unlikely to be malignant, and to the surgeon words "they didn't look like tumors I removed before". Thankfully they didn't cut my testicle, and Doctors did more "detailed" tissue tests to make sure the masses were not malignant.
It took me about 2 months to recover from the operation, my left testicle was very swollen but it eventually healed. It's a bit smaller and not as smooth as before. During the 2 months, I had about 6 Ultrasound just to check-in. ( I was a bit worried during the recovery )
In December 2020, I had a very weird pain and discomfort AROUND but not Inside, my RIGHT TESTICLE! The pain was not very strong, but it was consistent like my testicle was squeezes 24/7. I had some degree of varicocele in the Ultrasound, but the pain didn't really match that of varicocele. The pains were triggered by some physical activity though. Especially heavy lifting.
Doctors didn't have an answer for my unexplained pain yet.
I was examining my right testicle, and here I found, A LUMP, at the top of my testicle right, it was smaller than a grain of rice. It was firm but had some sort of a squishy tail. On the internet, it matches the shape of "testicular appendage", with a hard base, and soft tail, and PAINLESS unless I touch it a lot.
I had already made 6 Ultrasounds before, each one of them examined by the Right Testicle, not a single one reported any lumps.
In January 2021, my surgeon was back from a trip abroad, and the first thing he asked from me is for a pelvis CT Scan, and it has nothing to do with my current pain, or the right lump, he was "making more assurances that the masses he removed from my left testicle was not malignant".
I had a pelvis CT Scan with contrast, and the results came back GOOD! no signs of malignancy, and again, nothing "wrong", and nothing reported about my right testicle too! Even though I felt a mass there! which I have been complaining about the pain around it for a month.
The doctor had no answer for my right testicle's dull pain. And even with physical examination they couldn't find or feel the lump. Even if I guided them! It was frustrating.
I had two Ultrasound and asked the doctor to specifically examine the lump, even though he felt it with his OWN HANDS. It didn't show on the screen! And shown as "normal tissues". The Ultrasound doctor didn't even mention this in his report and most of the report was about my healing post-operation left testicle.
The dull pain from my right testicle that was 24/7 was getting me depressed. Until in March 2021, my doctor prescribed me Remeron Antidepressant, and it did wonders! my pain was gone from the first pill. I stayed on Remeron for 2 months and started feeling much better, the pain creeped in every once in a while, but it was gone most of the time.
In May 2021, I started going to the Gym, and phasing out Remeron antidepressant. And thanks god, I had no pains and was not on Remeron anymore.
BUT I STILL HAVE THE LUMP I DESCRIBED BEFORE. And no one ever acknowledged its existence once.
It is 2022 Now, 1 Year since I found this lump, I forgot about it because I have had more than 8 Ultrasounds, a pelvis CT Scan, multiple Tumor Markers blood tests, and each one of them didn't report anything wrong with my right.
And to my understanding, lumps don’t form in months, but years, so it’s hardly unlikely for this lump to have formed after I had my testicular biopsy. And if someone was already suspected for TC on the left, wouldn’t it be hard to miss something on the right ?
Should I go see a doctor and do extra scans? Or just believe that it is not something malignant and anything would have shown on the tests before?
I know I sound obsessed, but I may be a bit traumatized and want to finally get closure. Thank you.
