Very worried

I have been fastracked last Thursday and the day after Friday I recieved my appointment for the following Tuesday so on Tuesday i went to the hospital and had photos taken . I was advised the Dr would look at them on Wednesday..I heard nothing on Thursday so I rang and was advised due to staff illness they won't be reviewed until today. I'm worried sick and haven't slept since my appointment.  I worry alot anyway and have advised them of this.

 

Is there any harm in ringing again ? Or would you wait for letter. Does the dr phone when photos are reviewed? Or is a letter sent.

    Hello Abs124 and welcome to Cancer Chat, 

    It sounds like you're going through a very worrying time as you are waiting to have these photos reviewed. It's a shame that they were delayed in the process due to staff illness. If you still haven't heard back from them, I don't think there is any harm in ringing them again and asking whether they can give you an update on the situation. It may reassure you to talk to them and to be given a clear timeframe as to what to expect. 

    I am not sure myself whether the doctor would usually phone you or if a letter is sent after photos are reviewed - standard practices may vary according to hospital or surgery procedures. I hope that you will hear from other members of our forum who have been in a similar position before and that they will come and share their experience with you.
