So scared

I am not sure how to cope with the waiting.

I went for my first mammogram 2 weeks ago. Monday evening my life changed, completely unexpected,I had a referral to the breast clinic for Wednesday.

Had an ultrasound and biopsy and will receive a phone call on Monday to confirm my appointment for Wednesday next week to discuss results and treatment.

I’m struggling to cope with how hard this is. My mind is racing away with all sorts of images about next week.

    I'm so sorry to hear that your recent mammogram resulted in a recall and you attending breast clinic. I know that many women will understand how scary this period of uncertainty and waiting can be and hopefully some of our members will post to share their support with you soon. 

    I wanted to reply to suggest that you give our team of nurses a call if you can. I know that for many people, talking things through can be really helpful and I wonder if chatting with the team may be beneficial for you. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Hi [@anayah2002]‍ 

    I am doing ok now thanks for asking.

    I was diagnosed with breast cancer on the 16th Feb and had a lumpectomy and sentinel nodes removed on the 23rd.

    I start radiotherapy Thursday for 5 days and hormone treatment for 5 years.

    I’m coping much better now thanks.

    When will you hear about the outcome of the uni investigation?

    Although it’s been a while since your positive result hopefully it won’t be too much longer for you to get some answers xx
