Abnormal Smear Test

Hi All!

i had my first smear the end of January and my results came back as Cervical Cytology - negative but HPV detected. I rang my doctors and they said just come back in 12 months. They weren't helpful at all and now I'm just worrying. Is this something I should be worried about?

    Hi I think that means no abnormal cells changes were found, but you have the HPV virus which is really common. Your immune system should get rid of the virus over the coming months, so when you have your smear in 12 months they will just no cell changes and the HPV should have gone. They are just keeping an eye on things because of the HPV thats all.
