Needle biopsy Lymph Nodes

Hi, I have been extremely breathless these last 4 months.  Had a high d dimer blood test and was sent for a CT contrast of my lungs and a chest x-ray.  The tests results were no blood clot in the lungs but my lymph nodes are enlarged.  I have to go for an ultrasound guided needle biospy soon. Has anyone been through this?

My concern is my late father passed away aged 64 of high grade non Hodgkin's lymphoma.

  • Hi,

I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. I am going through a sinilar thing but the opposite way round. I had the ultrasound and biopsy, and have now been told i need a CT scan. The results of the biopsy didn't give a definite answer as to what ie going on, but i assumed that they would either repeat the biopsy or remove the whole lymph node.

  • Hi HH30, thank you for your reply. Sorry to hear you're going through something similar to myself.

The enlarged lymph nodes showed up on the contrast CT scan, I can't feel any lumps etc along the collarbone.  I know they say lymphoma isn't hereditary, but there is an increased risk.  Have you had any word of a date for your CT scan yet?

I've to go on Monday 21st February for this biopsy, but not 100% sure is it aspiration or core

  • Hi HH30,

How are you? Have you heard anything about getting a CT scan?
