Change in bowel happens and mucus in stool. So frightened.

Hi, I have severe health anxiety that has been easing lately but now I am experiencing symptoms. About 3 weeks ago my lower back started to hurt like a dull ache and it would be in my left bum cheek and then sometimes in the back of thigh. At different times of the day I get a shooting pain in my groin on and off on the left side but I put that down to ovulating. Anyway I felt like I kept needing to go the toilet and then when I did go there was a lot of yellow mucus. I started drinking more water and was going the toilet 2 to 3 times a day with what looked like a healthy stool. If I forget to drink water for one day I am constipated again and the pain gets worse in lower back. I'm frightened because I am going to toilet 3 times a day sometimes twice for the last week and I haven't ate a great deal because I have an eating disorder and I just don't feel like eating with the stress. Again went this morning to the toilet after waking up with a dull ache in my lower back and there was mucus but nowhere near as much as the other time. I am so worried it could be something serious and I am going to see my doctor tommorrow but I'm petrified incase they tell them something is wrong. I eat Weetabix for my breakfast every morning and I have either beans on seeded toast or something smallish for my dinner. I rarely eat anything else throughout the day only maybe a chocolate bar every now and then. I don't get exercise either as I am too afraid to go out alone. I'm hoping after explaining everything someone could help me. I have been drinking a lot more water but still have this back pain and feeling like I need to go the toilet. As I say since drinking the water I have been going the toilet 3 times a day but still with back pain. I am so scared

  • Hello blondegirlx

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some health concerns at the moment. It sounds like you're feeling very anxious about things.

It's good to hear that you were due to see your GP yesterday. I do hope that they were able to give you some advice and support in helping to improve things for you. Make sure you get back in touch with them if things don't settle.

    Best wishes.
