Enlarged spleen and throwing up/pain

Hi,

I wondered if anyone could help, I have been throwing up daily with severe pain upper left rib where the spleen is which is worse after eating. I feel extremely exhausted and disheartened today because I don't feel any further on. I have sever fluid retention in my legs I can't sleep at night with it. They ruled out any stomach issues throguh an endoscopy which was clear however ny abdominal scan came back with a slightly enlarged spleen, there's a small fatty sort of growth on my kidney but they said it's small and a cyst on my liver again small so they don't think they are causing any issues.

can anyone shed any light? The pain and throwing up is getting worse also never suffered fluid retention my legs are killing from it. It's all a bit of a mystery and I am confused why my spleen is larger than it should be, they are referring me to a hematologist to be on the safe side. ?

  • Hello Laura1011,

Welcome to our forum! I can understand why you are feeling worried about it as you are waiting to find out more. It's good you are getting this looked into as it must be so hard to be sick like this on a daily basis. I hope that you will meet other members of the forum who have had this before and that they will share their experience with you.

It's good that they are taking things seriously and being thorough and that they have referred you to a haematologist to be on the safe side. All you can do for now really is wait to see the specialist and waiting is definitely not the easiest thing.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this while you are waiting is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
