Still worried after breast clinic appointment

Hello,

I had an appointment at the breast clinic today as I have a lump in my armpit. The consultant examined me and I had a scan and they have said they think it is a side effect from the covid vaccine. I had my vaccine well over a month ago now and it was in the opposite arm to where the lump is. Consultant still didn't seem concerned and still put it down to the jab.

however they want to see me again in 6 weeks and if still there they will take a biopsy. I don't understand why they will do a biopsy in 6 weeks if it looks ok on the scan now? Shouldn't they have done a biopsy there and then?

I feel like I'm going to be constantly anxious for the next 6 weeks now. :( anyone else had a similar experience?

  • Hi Gttt89 I also have a lump in my armpit too but I also have a lump in my breast am waiting to see the breast clinic on Thursday and i wouldn't worry too much as I have read a lot scince waiting for my appointment and the amount of people i have seen saying they've had it scince there vaccine some of had it for 3 or 4 months so I wouldn't worry they probably haven't took a biopsy as you don't have any other lumps to worry about hope this helps xxx

  • Hi Dolly thank you for the reply.

so sorry to hear you are going through a similar experience. That's reassuring to know some people have had it for quite a few months. I really hope all goes well with your appointment too xxx

  • Thank you so much !!! I know the worrying feeling it's absolutely horrible but i have read a lot about it and most is down to Covid vaccine and there is loads of peoples that haven't settled even after 6 months xx

  • The worrying is definitely the worst, I was really hoping after my appointment I'd have had a definite "everything is fine" so I could stop panicking but I still feel just as anxious and now have to wait another 6 weeks just need to keep telling myself I'm sure they'd have seen if there was anything sinister on the ultrasound, I just get myself so worked up it's really helpful to know that there are so many others in the same boat, I didn't even realise it was a side effect of the vaccine, must have caused so many women such worry xxx please let me know how you get on as well, try keep busy hopefully time will pass quickly xxx
