It's hard to give any indication of what the issue may be - I appreciate it must be a bit of a dilemma with your holiday planned. Perhaps the consultant said that to ensure you don't miss any appointments or results. Having to cancel and finding out it's for nothing would be annoying but also ultimately a good thing overall, if it means you get answers and reassurance.

Ultimately it is up to you - if you're having doubts then you could try to talk things through with your doctor, or at your upcoming appointment.
