I did reply to your other post-not sure if you saw that? I’ve had cervical cancer and have been in contact with many women in the same position. I personally do not know anyone who had a diagnosis of cervical cancer and had no unusual bleeding/ bleeding after sex/spotting.

You have had a normal ultrasound result, and the nurse says your cervix looks normal, which is reassuring. The smear test is not a diagnostic test for cervical cancer: it is a screening for the HPV virus which causes abnormal cervical cell changes, so you will need to wait for your smear test results to determine whether you have the virus, and from that whether it has caused any cervical cell changes. 

The whole point of screening is to detect cell changes long before they become cancerous, and your previous smears have been clear. 

All of your tests so far have been good, so while no-one here can say what is the matter, it doesn’t sound typical of cervical cancer at all.

Thank you so much for replying. I am really anxious obviously. I've got two little girls at home. 

My legs were absolutely aching me last night and I just couldn't sleep with worry. I am debating on calling the gp this morning. But they haven't taken me very seriously so far.

I can appreciate that you are very anxious as you have symptoms which are unexplained as yet, and fear and worry will be exhausting for you.

Can I ask what makes you think you might have cervical cancer as opposed to another less serious condition? I would suggest that if you are using dr google you shouldn’t as it will scare you and not be of any help. I’ve not heard anyone reporting tingling leg pain as a symptom before. 

I’m not sure how helpful it would be to call the gp, and what they would be able to do, other than potentially refer you to a gynaecologist if they felt this was warranted. But maybe you could get some help with your anxiety? 

I thought leg pain is a sign of cervical cancer and pelvic pain. To be honest Google hasn't helped. You're right. 

Lots of things can be symptoms of cervical cancer, but also of many other less serious things. That’s where dr google is so dangerous. You find a symptom which matches something you feel and fixate on the worst possible outcome google comes up with! 

Yes, pelvic pain can be a symptom, but it can be a symptom of lots of gynaecological issues. Leg pain can be a symptom, but could be sciatica or something else. 

The best advice I can give is to stay away from dr google-it cannot diagnose you with anything but it can ramp up your anxiety hugely.
