Vaginal polyp

Hey all, I've never posted to a forum before so I really hope I do this right! Desperate for any advice!

I realised I had a really small lump (pea sized) and went to the doctors (after delaying it for 2 weeks!) I was told the doctor couldn't see it but could feel it and it felt like a polyp. I was assured that she isn't worried at all about it, but as I have past history of CIN 3 that she would refer me to gyno. She even said they might not want to see as its so minor.

I obviously feel relieved at the time and come home and Google it (bad mistake!) to read that polyps need to be reviewed and probably removed, and can turn cancerous.

I am obviously now very worried and still don't know too much about my situation! Anyone had experience of a small polyp and should I be worried or just calm down?!

Thanks

Sarah

  • Hi Sarah and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry for the worry this is causing but it's good to hear your GP has referred you and hopefully it won't be long until your appointment with the gynaecologist comes through.

I'm sure some of our members will pop by soon to offer you their support and advice but in the meantime, do try and stay away from Google if you can, because as you've discovered, it really isn't very helpful in these situations.

Fingers crossed the polyp isn't anything serious.

    Kind regards,
