2nd biopsy - breast lumps

Hi

So last year (April) I found a lump. Had an ultrasound scan biopsy and MRI all came back fine. At the ultrasound they told me she was extremely confident that it was a fibroadenoma and the biopsy and MRI was just to be 100% due to my age (30). After the biopsy she said they would send a letter with results or call if they needed me to come back in.

Recently I discovered another lump right next to the 1st. However this time at the ultrasound (same sonographer) she gave absolutely nothing away and told me she isn't sure as there is a cluster of 2-3 little lumps and she went out to get a second doctor as well which didn't happen last time. They've also booked me in for a return appointment to discuss results so I'm absolutely cacking myself to put it bluntly! I feel like it's worse because last time it seemed much more straightforward, professionals were really confident and this time there seems to be a lot more concern.

Has this happened to anyone else??

  • Hello CJ1991

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some more breast biopsies. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about things. I think that most of our members here will agree that this period of uncertainty and waiting can be particularly difficult.

It's good to know that you already have an appointment arranged for the results. Hopefully, you don't have to wait too long for this, and whatever results the team gives you they will be able to offer some reassurance about things.

It can help to talk things through with someone and I'd suggest giving our team of nruses a call. I'm sure they'll be happy to offer andy advice, information and support that they can whilst you wait for your results. If you'd like to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch CJ1991 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
