Advice would very much be appreciated….

Afternoon all, so I had a vaccine on weds and today I was advised to see a&e due to swelling in armpit/breast.

had basic bloods taken and they seem "ok" but doctor referred me to urgent mammogram  as the swollen lymph node in armpit is almost the size of a tennis ball and told me I needed further testing.

it is sooo painful.

I have high blood pressure but today it was 192/134 extremely high.

for 8 weeks or more I have suffered awful night sweats and in the last 2/3 months lost 1 and a half stone in weight with out trying and am constantly EXHAUSTED

i don't want to be dramatic but I'm so worried as the dr seemed just as worried and also he made me book a smear with my gp.

last year I went to hospital for a swollen lump in groin they thought was a hernia but ended up being a lymph node but I didn't link that to this.

any advice please

  • Oh gosh how uncomfortable, so sorry you're going through this :-(

The vaccine has been linked to swollen nodes, but especially in the armpit (most frequently reported). If you've had a large swollen node before perhaps you are a little prone to them?

Ultimately, no one here is able to tell you what's wrong. It's a waiting game whilst you have tests. It's so very difficult to wait :-(  Try and stay busy and avoid Google. The Dr's are looking at your case and they are the only ones who can tell you anything.

I hope everything works out for you xx
