Hi. I'm new here so I apologise if I post something incorrectly.
Basically around 5th November 2021 , I urinated blood. I had a CT scan of my bladder and kidneys to check for tumors etc on 11th November 2021.
I hadn't heard anything so I hoped that everything was ok but I knew that I had to chase it up to make sure so finally built up the courage to call yesterday.
So last night I spoke with urology and they told me that I need to book a follow up appointment. Immediately my heart started racing and my world collapsed around me because I suffer with servere anxiety as it is and I thought that surely if I need a follow up then they must have found something.
Anyways, I got an email this morning saying that I have a phone appointment on Feb 2nd , so I have to ask if anyone has received bad news by phone?
I honestly can't think straight, I don't know how I'm going to be able to get through the next 5 days. All I can think about is what they found.
I asked the urology dept why I hadn't heard anything for almost 3 months and they said it's due to a backlog , but if so I don't understand why I called yesterday and got an appointment booked instantly. Does this mean that if I have bladder cancer for example, that it's been left to grow for 3 months. Would they really do that?
I'm only 35 years old and im petrified that it's cancer.
I haven't had a single symptom since I urinated blood but I've read that cancer can grow with no symptoms. They checked for infection and I'm clear so all I've read online is that it must be a growth.
I just don't know what to do. Would they really tell me that they found something fatal over the phone?
Sorry for rambling on here. I have no one to talk to about this.
Thank you for any advice and good luck to everyone.
UPDATE
I just contacted the case manager that booked my appointment. I asked him if there's any chance that if they found something like cancer on my scan, would i of been left for 3 months without any news. He said that he is only admin so obviously he can't say what the results are but in his experience if it's something serious then they would of contacted me within the first 2 weeks. This has given me a bit of hope until my phone appointment, although I know that I obviously urinated blood for some reason. I just hope it isn't life threatening.
