Swollen lymph node

Hi I went for an ultrasound for a lump that came up in my jaw, they said it appears normal and nothing to worry about and that was that, however 9 months later it's still there so I went back to the gp who has revered me to ENT  , now I'm so worried I had a baby 4 months ago and my anxiety is just so high at the moment, has anyone had anything like this? Thanks

  • Hello, I too have a lump on my left lymph node that is not noticeable until I left my head up and then it's huge! It's hard and doesn't move and isn't painful. I went to the doctor last Tuesday and they said they would refer me for an ultrasound however I had a letter through today saying I have an appointment with a gastroenterologist next Wednesday?! Which is so confusing! I'm hoping he is able to deal with this problem too. Does your lump move when you press it?

  • How long had yours been there? Have you had any infections recently ?  I can't see mine at all I can only feel it, yes mine does move when I touch it slightly.

  • I have two hard unmoveable  lymph nodes also under my chin in the middle i rang the doctors and they kind off said nothing and said I should give them a call in a couple of weeks  will you let me know what they say please when you go im kind off worried too and don't know what to do and it would help me to know what happens thank you x

  • Hi, If you haven't had an ultrasound or anything or the doctor has not felt them that would be the first step, the doctor felt mine and I have also previously had an ultrasound, I would be ringing the doctors back if you have had none of these and requesting it, do they not even feel slightly wobbly when you touch them?

  • No rock hard and solid when I touch them and all google says his bad things and can't say anything else it could be cheers I will ring them

  • It's been there for at least four months now, I tried to wait and see if it would go down but it hasn't unfortunately. No infections. What about you? I've had really low blood counts for the last year and a half though. Low iron levels, low b12, low folate and now low lymphocytes

  • When I went for my ultrasound the lady did say that lymph nodes can come and stay enlarged permanently or for years, I have one on my neck that came up that I was worried sick about but had an ultrasound and was ok this was 6 years ago and still there, I don't have any current infections but when it first appeared I had a tooth infection, my bloods came back normal and ultrasound was ok but as it's still there they are referring me to ent, does yours not even feel slightly wobbly when you try and wiggle it?
