Ultrasound worry - neck lump

Hi all,

I recently found a firm, unmovable lump above my collar bone on the right hand side. GP referred me for a US which was carried out.

The US clinician said he couldn't find the lump when carrying out the scan, but it's very very obvious to touch. I'm waiting to hear from my GP for results

I'm starting to worry it's just going to be left.

had anyone else been in this situation and did any further tests get carried out to find out what it might be?

thank you

  • Hello E_BL22 and a warm welcome to our forum,

I hope you won't have to wait too long for these important results. The wait is always such an anxious time as many of our members will know only too well. Try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be or what they might do. It is unlikely that it will just be left as it is and I am sure that you are in the best possible hands to get this sorted.

I hope that you will hear from other members of our forum who have been in this situation before and that they will give you further insights on whether further tests were carried out for them and what their own experiences were like. It does help to talk to others who understand what you are currently going through.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi,

I too have a hard lump growing on the right side of my collar bone. Chest X-Ray was clear & bloods were ok. Just waiting for an Ultrasound Scan. I hope they can Identify what the lump is as like you I'm concerned the GP will tell me to monitor it. If that happens I think I'll ask for a referral to a private Dr.

    how are you getting on?
