diagnosis rollercoaster

Hi all I am 52 and had a postmenopausal bleed on the 4th of decemeber. I went to my docs 6th December and was urgently refferred. I was seen on the 15th Dec and had a scan which found bilateral ovarian cysts and my womb is 11.7mm thick . They tried to get a biopsy but failed so I was told I would need an hysteroscopy in 2 weeks well it ended up being yesterday which was 5 weeks and it failed , they couldn't gain access , I now have to have it done under general anaesthetic . I asked how long and she said it should be within 2 weeks and I just thought ive heard that before . I found yesterday very traumatic . Im not sleeping , im stressed to the hilt and just want to know one way or another. Is anyone else experiencing delays like this or am I just unlucky? even if i do get seen within the next fortnight ill still have to wait for the biopsy results which to me means im not going to find out for at least another month , possibly longer. I just dont know what to do with myself . Christmas was awful with all this hanging over me and then to cap it all I caught covid which to be fair was a walk in the park compared to this and im glad ive had it now as I was so stressed on my first hospital app and convinced I would catch it then .Any advice would be much appreciated .

  • Hi

a few years ago I had to have a hysteroscopy after some abnormal bleeding and a cyst. Turned out to be benign thankfully.

just wanted to reply as I'm too going through the agony of waiting for results on behalf of my mum and I'm honestly going out of my mind, I can't function, work, eat or sleep and definitely expecting the worst. I think a lot of us on here go through the same hell and I wish there was something I could say to help but I'm looking for answers too. I spoke to my GP this morning but he was pretty useless, even after telling him I couldn't cope day to day.
im sure you'll be fine and worrying over nothing but just know you're not alone x

  • Hi I hope everything is ok with your mum and thankyou for replying . I know covid has put a spanner in the works but the delays seem way more than they should be . Im in west yorkshire , it would be interesting to see if its just certain areas that are having delays or if its uk wide .Im not sleeping , im trying to keep busy , I live on my own so ive been watching dvds on a night , which I don't normally do .Life feels very surreal at the minute x
