High grade HPV & CIN 2

Hi all, new to posting.

Abit of a back story - had my smear early Nov 21', received results end of Nov with 'borderline changes' and was booked for a colscopy. Everyone told me not to panic and it would be fine which I fully believed as a lot of people can have abnormal smears. Went for my colscopy appointment 23rd December which was confirmed CIN 2 (possibly 3) and they took 2 biopsies.

Will be 4 weeks tomorrow and I still haven't received my results - I'm not sure if it's a good thing that I haven't had them yet or if I should be worried that I haven't had them yet. I've called both GP and colscopy clinic and both have told me the results aren't back yet.

I'm going out of my mind and the wait is getting worse and worse with every day that goes by. I've 2 young children and can't help but feel the worst is coming. How do you all cope with the waiting? It's literally killing me. I'm crying all the time thinking the worst.

  • Welcome to the forum Shannmc although I'm sorry you're still waiting for your biopsy results to come through.

Sadly it sounds like this may have been impacted by the pandemic but fingers crossed it won't be much longer now and good news comes your way.

Our members know how tough it can be waiting for results so I'm sure some of them will offer their tips and advice to you soon but I hope this article on how to cope with waiting for news will help as well.

If you have any questions you'd like to discuss with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
