Multiple swollen lymph nodes in neck

I've been experiencing swollen lymph nodes for no apparent reason for the last year or so and have posted on here a few times in the past.

I currently have several swollen lymph nodes on both sides of my neck. They are fairly small and seem to move (at least side to side) but I'm so aware of them they feel huge. I think all are below 1cm apart from 1 which you can see when I bend my neck. The big one came up a few days after my covid vaccine in June so I put it down to that and it did reduce in size at the time but has stayed big since (but it's very squidgy).

I was trying not to worry as I read about vaccines and nodes on here but now lots of other small ones have appeared in panicking. I have a GP appointment on Tuesday (soonest they had) and I'm expecting a 2 week referral (based on the fact I had one in October but the node in question disappeared and they discharged me without seeing me!! They said gp would refer back if I get more swollen which they have).

I'm just so scared, I also don't know what to tell my family as I don't want them worrying. Has anyone been in similar situations and all was fine? I do have Lupus which is an autoimmune disease so hoping it's just due to that

Any reassurance is really appreciated

  • Hello Chloefaye

I'm sorry to hear that the health concerns you've had previously have resurfaced. It's good to know that you already have a GP appointment arranged and hopefully they will be able to give you some reassurance about things when you see them on Tuesday.

Living with a long-term health condition can leave some people feeling anxious about other aspects of their health so it's understandable that you're feeling anxious about these raised nodes. You may find it helpful to have a look at the NHS website information about managing health anxiety. They have some useful tips and advice that may help you cope.

I hope things settle for you soon.

    Best wishes,
